Ackerman charged installed security system in my house and installed 2G sim card instead of 4g sim card and charged me for 4g system. They stop supporting 2G and did not let me know. On Feb. 10 (deposit of 29.21 was taken on my signing up ) for the service when my system had to be installed two days later no one checked my phone service prior to see I had wireless service so I was told I had to not only pay 99,00 more but my monthly payment would increase from 19.95 to 29.95 okay I received two emails and an invoice stating that I was overdue now my premium as I was told due on the 15th of the month in which they took on... I contacted Ackerman Security today 02/23/2016 seeking my refund after waiting almost a month and was on hold for a half hour then the call was cut off Redialed their number and the same happened The sales Representative sent to my home was deceptive with providing me the service I requested In conversation it was one thing and in email it was another their was no concern about my situation I would not recommend them in my option their customer... Do not trust these guys and read all the fine prints before you sign. I didn't want to go with long contracts, so I paid for the hardware when I signed up a one year agreement with them in 2014. The system stopped functioning shortly after installation and after reading all these negative reviews about how much they charge for a tech visit, I didn't even bother to call and waited for the rest of the year to pass by. I have two bad sensors that Ackerman refuses to repair/replace without charging an arm and a leg. My alarm would go off for no reason! If I'm at work or out of town, I can't tell if it's a bad sensor or someone breaking into my home. So Ackerman says they'll send the police out. What they don't tell you is if the police don't find anything, you never get a call back. So you're sitting on pins and needles waiting to find out if someone has... Read more

I signed a contract with Ackerman for my service but what they don't tell you is this doesn't include the equipment - only the monitoring service. I've had two sensors go bad within the first year and they won't replace them unless I pay extra. And by extra I mean about $100 just for them to come out and inspect their own equipment. I have had Ackerman Security for over 4 years. I signed a 3 year contract initially back in 2011 (even though the sensors/pads were there from previous owner). I didn't realize that they put me on auto-renewable annual contract after the 3 year ended. Now I am trying to cancel the service and switch to ADT and Ackerman is making me pay for the full year. I was told by their desperate lying salesman that I would get 3 month's monitoring up front at no charge and half price for the radio unit which was $99.00 as I am on a fixed income.like alot of other people,however,upon checking my account,I found the withdrew an additional $86.00,the price for 3 month's if monitoring.I've called them atleast 4 time's and was told the money would be refunded and I'm still waiting.I even had the salesman write... I have been with Ackerman now for about 6 months. They told me that because I had an existing security system, a new one was not needed. Upon 1 week after installing the additional equipment, one of my sensors failed to work. I called Ackerman to fix the issue and they wanted to charge me $90 just to check it out and whatever cost for the part. Upon purchase my system over 2 years ago it was explained to me that I didn't have a contract after 2 years and now that I'm moving from my home I was trying to cancel my service and now Ackerman is explaining to me that there's a penalty that I have to pay.
