I was told if I signed up that certain day, I got 6 months free. Then when they installed the system (which I totally owned & brought from another city), I found out that the 6 months were the 11th, 12th, 23rd, 24th, 35th, & 36th months. I was assured by Ackurman sales man that Im getting a month to month monitoring service with no contract. After a year and a half I tried to cancel they told me. I can't because I have a contract. Add comment

I caught someone breaking into my house today while the alarm was set to "stay." They got the door open, but the alarm didn't go off. I was lucky to see them before they got in so I confronted them and they ran away. I called Ackerman and asked for immediate assistance to repair the faulty door contact that they installed. Our alarm sounded on June 8, 2015 and would not stop. In calling the Ackerman customer service number the representative stated they were not showing an alarm going off. I asked her to listen to which she stated she could hear it going off however but could not see it in the Ackerman System. So, I wonder long they were "not" monitoring our property! Service has been great. My bill is always the same amount. When the alarm goes off, they call me within seconds. Our technician was an expert and very friendly. Last year our lawn care company broke their yard signs. When I called to request a new yard sign, Ackerman dispatched a representative to come install a new one for me. Suppose to get 6 months free with 6 months paid. The free 6 months were on the end of the one year contract....understandable. They promised me I would not have my credit card debited after my contract was up. I was afraid they would debit my card after the contract but they promised me I didn't have to cancel my credit card to avoid Ackerman debiting my card. I knew should have!!! I called them... Been with Ackerman for about 20 yrs. Never had a problem with service or monitoring. Alarm has gone off on occasion when I opened a window or door and they called immediately, also when a door blew open and I was not home. And had them come in to add a sensor to a door and yes, I was charged for it but it was a reasonable charge. The worst I can say is that they did try to raise my monitoring... Read more

I bought a security system with a 5 year warranty in 2012 It totally stopped working last week, their technician said it was shot but didn't know why. I asked them to replace it since it was still under warranty and they said "no" and won't cancel the monitoring charges. I am getting an attorney!! Read more

I have been a customer of Ackerman Security for year. Now I am going to leave them after several years. I have requested an additional keypad for six months now and have yet to receive it. Each time I call they say they will have a representative name Victor to call me back. I spoke to him once an has never heard from him or the company again. Add comment

Took payment out of my account when they wanted to which caused mortgage to bounce. Two months later as a matter of fact. They told me they had right to do so if they failed (negligence) to do so according to their protocol. Their incompetence caused me money with no apology just sarcasm. I'm pissed!!!!! Worse costumer service for such a known company!! THE WORSE!!! Add comment
