Ackerman's sales person, in matching a proposal from a different company I was considering, flat out lied to me.

It took me awhile to realize this as the installers came out without all the promised equipment. It ultimately took a few months to receive everything they'd sold me... then I couldn't get the parts of the system to function. I should have started to worry when I saw what a mess the installers made. They left bits of wire everywhere, left boxes and packing material scattered around my attic, and were generally sloppy. Later it turned out they'd destroyed the weatherstripping on all the alarmed windows and I had to replace all of it along with the magnets for the alarm sensors (Ackerman refused to do anything).

To make a long story short... after hours on the phone and having several techs out to my home, I discovered I'd been sold equipment that just couldn't do what the sales person had claimed. Rather than stand behind the equipment/claimed functionality, Ackerman told me I'd have to buy new equipment to get my system functioning as the sales person had promised. I'd paid almost $3,000 for the initial system/installation... then had to eat about $300 worth of useless/never functioning equipment (still in my basement if you want it) and purchase another $200 or so worth of gear to get things working.

Since then I've had several other problems with the installed equipment. In every case I've had to pay for new equipment (even when the problem was related to the original installation). In general, Ackerman will NOT stand behind their installations/equipment in any way. To diagnose a problem, regardless of circumstance, plan to pay Ackerman $89.95 for the first 30 minutes of their techs time... plus parts or the cost of new equipment. Your money is more important to Ackerman than anything else...

In generally I wouldn't trust anything anyone from Ackerman tells you. They're the worst.

Monetary Loss: $700.

Preferred solution: I want absolutely nothing from these *** I'm done being screwed over by them!!.
